I was trying to make it less nesty. Glaze was not used, to make it more about the idea of this arrangement. If I wanted to make them look real I might as well used real samples from nature.

Ok..lemme see if I can give you a little feedback. I'm going to focus in ceramics as well 
I do like this remake of the orignal because it have more volume and the composition seems much better. I must say that although I do like monochromatic pieces this gives me too much of an "unfinished" vibe. This may be due to seeing this as a picture instead of in person, I may get a different feel. But I'd like to see a little stain or use of slip in the indentations of the wood. I feel it would create more depth. Its almost a little hard to distinguish what is being seen, although once again this may just be because I'm looking at it in the pic. I love the textures and the idea of actually using things from nature to create them. This is a very inovative and looks natural and lovely. One more thing...the inclusion of the sand dollar seems a little out of place for this composition. It doesn't really match the theme of the piece being that it all appears to be more forestry than oceany...
