Binary in Nature

Description

I was trying to convey a message about how technology is becoming natural in our everyday lives by doing this piece. I'm not sure I accomplished it, and I'm not sure if I have anywhere to go with this concept, working in my current style. This piece does spell out a message, but only someone who is willing to look that info up will know what it means. If such a person exists, please do not reply with the translation here.

I entered this into the NCECA 2009 regional student show. EDIT: And it got in! I pretty much made this piece for this show specifically, hoping it would spark a movement in me, but it hasn't yet.

I hate being in limbo....

I can't say that upon first viewing this I got the "techonology becoming more natural in life", but what strikes me about it is the stark contrast you present by spelling binary (mechanical)with twigs (natural), and the contrast between binary, which is a very patterned, precise, rhythmic thing and twigs, which are much more chaotic and their patterns less visible and precise. Interesting.
