Asuka's Hairclips by rebootmaster2001 Asuka's Hairclips by rebootmaster2001
These are the hairclips Asuka wears all the time, not only in her pilot suit. They're made from foam and are completely wearable.

Sorry, but I am not. School has kept me too busy to keep my store up. But I'll tell you what works the best.

Get barettes, red crayola modeling foam, and red and black craft paint. Mold a flattened sphere to the desired size of your both of your clips and then cut it down the middle. Shape the foam so it has a curve on the bottom, push the metal barettes into the bottom. Take more modeling foam and make little flattened coils (really small) and cover the ends of the metal barette to keep it in place. Last, to make the black lines, take the end of a skinny paintbrush, and use the back end side to push in the lines. Do not carve this clay, always push. Then all you have to do is paint it when it's all dry. You must make it in about 30 minutes or so, otherwise the foam will dry. I'd suggest making one pair, sealing the clay, and then immediately make a second pair because the clay doesn't keep, no matter what. Once it oxidizes it WILL harden, even if you keep it sealed with no air T_T

Hope that helped, ask me any questions if any arise. ;)

my girlfriend and I just made a pair... they're much shinier though... I guess we're not the only ones to think of making publicly wearable cosplay bits :D

I wouldnt' mind making a living off of it, but I think I'd still rather teach. I'd rather see and communicate with people in real life rather than making stuff for strangers out of my home.
